About this trip

Praised be Jesus Christ! Now and Forever!
Two years have passed since we supposed to make this pilgrimage. After the Covid-19 is over and the Holy Land is open again, what better way is there to have one’s soul radically configured to Christ than by following in His own footsteps? Pilgrimage to the Holy Land offers us the opportunity to literally touch the earth, see the landscapes, hear the ambience, smell the aromas, and taste the foods that our Blessed Lord chose from all eternity to call ‘Home’; as such, the Holy Land is indeed the home of every Christian.
I would like to invite you to SAUNTER with me in places where Jesus lived, taught, suffered, died, and victoriously rose from the dead. Saunter means to walk slowly, relaxedly, without hurry or effort. Pilgrims would prayerfully meander to the Holy Land (French: la Sainte Terre) observing the culture of the lands they passed through for which the French gave them the moniker the ‘Sant’ter¬rer-ers’. As we slowly and prayerfully saunter through these ancient places, the Scriptures will truly come alive for you. You will never be able to hear or read it the same way again.
As a young deacon preparing for priestly ordination, I made retreat in Galilee, Nazareth, and Jeru¬salem where I asked the Lord to make my heart like unto his own heart: his response still echoes in my soul.
Listen to Jesus. When St. Andrew curiously asked the Lord, “Rabbi, where are you staying?” Jesus replied, “Come, and you will see.” Andrew followed, passed time slowly with the Lord, and his life was never the same. Neither will yours be. Curious? Come and you will see.
In Christ, Fr. Christopher Bernabe
