About this trip

Dearest Parishioners,

I wish to invite all of you to join me on pilgrimage as we see the beauty and art of our Catholic faith in Italy .

We will visit the four major basilicas (including an audience with the Pope) of Rome-St. Peter, John Lateran, Mary Major, Paul Outside the Walls.

We will visit the tomb of St. Cyril (our patron). We will go to Assisi and pray and reflect on the life of St. Francis and St. Clare and Blessed Carlo Acutis. We will continue to Siena and Florence visiting the resting place of St. Catherine and the beautiful cathedral of Florence.

We will end up in Padua were we will pray at the tomb of St. Anthony. We will visit the resting places of many saints throughout the trip including Ss. John Paul II, John XXIII, Monica, Clement, and Ambrose. We will visit the Sistine Chapel, encounter relics of the manger of Christ, and many other works of art and history. It will be a great trip!

The primary function of the Chapel is the Papal Conclave, providing the place where the College of Cardinals of the church gathers to select a new Pope. Then we walk through Saint Peter’s Basilica. The present structure was completed in 1590 and was built over the Byzantine and Middle Ages structures that marked the tomb of Saint Peter.
